Local Authorities
Gaining access to detailed online mapping is a demanding process for schools as after locating and acquiring the maps it has to be hosted and delivered. uLearn solves this problem for schools by managing the maps centrally, removing all the technical burden from the school. All a teacher needs is a computer, a browser (i.e. Internet Explorer or Firefox), a broadband internet connection and a uLearn maps license.
uLearn provides access for Local Authority schools to Ordnance Survey mapping for the school's entire Grid area.
For one map (OS 1:50,000) uLearn is able to join together every participating Grid area for all Local Authority schools to share.
In addition uLearn now delivers OS data for the entire country through the OS Digital Map Data Pilot initiative.
Many Authorities hold current and historic mapping and aerial photographs, their license for which covers schools. WebBased is happy to process and host this data entirely without charge so that Authority schools can access it online.
Because of our relationships with map data suppliers, we are also able to provide additional mapping, even as detailed as 12.5cm aerial imagery, at very competitive prices. Contact us if you require further details.
WebBased is happy to provide free uLearn accounts (including access to detailed mapping) for Authority Education Advisors. uLearn's thematic mapping now provides important pedagogic and administrative opportunities for Advisors. If you would like to explore the free display of statistical data i.e. to support the Every Child Matters initiative, please contact Charles Worth.
